July 29, 2012 SOUTHBRIDGE — Several years ago, Southbridge had a booster club for its school athletics program, but that "disintegrated" for various reasons.
Starting Monday at 6 p.m., a group of local residents is hoping to resurrect that concept and put it on a firmer footing.
According to one of them, former School Committee Chair Jack Jovan, the original group never had a legal existence, so this time they plan to formally create a non-profit to make the group eligible for grants and other fundraising. To make that happen, he added, they're seeking any help they can get, including people with accounting and legal experience willing to donate their time.
